We are happy to release INFO MANEJO's second edition. Here you will learn more advices on how to sit in front of the steering wheel, what to do when the engine overheats and the reasons why personnel should be trained in safe-driving.

   Which is the proper driving position? second issue.
We continue with the sitting position advices when driving a standard car:

3rd step: Our sight line should be above the steering wheel. Adjust the prominent part of the headrest so it coincides with the imaginary line of your eyes. It should stay as closest to our head as it can be.


4th step: The seatbelt should cross your chest from the left shoulder. The lower abdominal part should tighten the hip, so it diminishes slipping or pressure. It's advisable to check every time we sit down that the belt buckles and that the retractable system works correctly.



Important to know: Don't use cushions, sit covers or any other object that prevent you from having a direct contact with the sit or induce you to slide. Some abdomen and pelvis injuries are caused when the driver slides below the belt (submarine effect).

   What to do when the engine overheats
How to become aware of this:
When the sidelight goes on or the temperature indicator is on the red area, they tell us that the engine is overheated. It's advisable to park in a safe place as soon as possible and turn off the engine. This should be done carefully, paying attention to the vehicles behind us. If we continue driving and ignoring the alerts we would damage the engine and its repair would be expensive or maybe irremediable. The vehicle might remain useless.

In this kind of situations we should, before touching the engine cooling system, verify that the temperature is below 60º. It's important to know that, although there's no water left, there will be water vapour.


What should we do:
Ever single time that we deal with high temperature pressurized circuits we should wait till it cools down. Do not trust your own reaction speed when you open the radiator or the reserve tank. You can avoid from burning if you are aware that vapour expansion is quicker than a human being's reaction.

   Why is it important to evaluate and train drivers?
Nowadays it's extremely necessary for a company to prepare its personnel who drive automotive vehicles, although it is not their main function. There are varied reasons to adopt the evaluation and constant training as a policy, but the most important is that we find there is a lack of an adequate preparation, shown through the high number of transport accidents that occur these days.

Many drivers, regardless the fact they posses a license, only have the information they acquired when practising with relatives or friends. This is why the correct safe-driving training helps to reduce the number of accidents, a vital consequence, not only because it reduces operative costs, but also because it preserves lives.

In addition, it also improves the fleet usage, reducing costs from maintenance and replacement parts, increasing the units service life and when selling them, the vehicles will cost more.
