   The Attitude's influence when driving
Driving psychology is a new discipline that comes to answer the society's necessity of controlling the consequences of the growing number of vehicles. The increasing traffic accidents and all kinds of costs are to be prevented. Driving Psychology, from a cognitive-behavioural angle, contributes to revert accidents.

Driving a vehicle is a complex activity linked to the emotional area, between others. That is why the drive experiences a series of reactions to any unexpected event -anger, frustration, violence, rage, anxiety-. Different studies have identified negative attitudes in drivers involved in accidents. These attitudes turn into behaviour, emotions and thoughts that will have a determinant effect when driving a vehicle.

For example, a person with a negative attitude towards women drivers thinks "what a mess, women drive awfully", negative behaviours, like making them notice a mistake by braking abruptly, and emotions such as frustration and aggression. This answer, which acts in chain reaction, increases the own and others risk of causing an accident.

Intelligent Driving, thanks to Driving Psychology, helps the drivers to modify attitudes and aims to control the emotions, thoughts and behaviours that influence negatively in driving. The used techniques are effective and can be learned easily. The intelligent driver is a driver emotionally trained to answer positively and effectively to growing traffic obstacles nowadays.

    Gear box oil
In mechanisms such as gear box, failures are almost always caused by incorrect maintenance. A common error is that the appropriate oil replacements are not done nor the oil levels checked*. There is a popular belief that says that the gear box oil shouldn't be replaced, and if the level is low, only the missing oil should be refilled.

However, these beliefs are mistaken. Firstly, although the gearbox oil may not present a noticeable contamination -as in the engine oil-, it wears out. When it loses its conditions due to the friction, its aspect might be good but is far from being an effective lubricant.

Plus, but only in automatic gearboxes, is possible to measure the oil level simple by turning the engine on, pressing the brake while passing the lever from P to 1 and then going back to P. With the engine still on, we can remove the oil measure stick and check the level.

Therefore, the lubricants classifications and the replacement periods recommended in the manual must be followed.

IMPORTANT: If we transit through flooded areas we must control immediately the oil level, because contamination with water is very common in these situations, and it ruins the system.

* Only in automatic gearboxes.
